Gemini Sports Program
Gemini Middle School offers a full range of athletic programs for all eligible 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. Each season runs roughly 6-8 weeks, allowing students to participate in various athletic teams. The sports we offer in the fall are cross country, girls' volleyball, and soccer. Boys' and girls' basketball, cheerleading, and wrestling are winter sports. Boys' volleyball, girls' softball, and track and field are held in the spring. The staff at Gemini Middle School believes that athletics offers additional avenues for students to connect with the school site and to be part of our exceptional athletic community.
Our sports program enhances students' experience at Gemini by fostering positive relationships with peers and staff while teaching lifelong skills of commitment, dedication, and teamwork. We encourage all students to increase physical activity and exercise; our athletic program is the basis of that philosophy. Together with coaches, players, and families, participation in athletics greatly enhances a student's character and helps develop successful young men and women.
Agreement to Participate in Interscholastic Sports and Concussion Consent & Acknowledgment
What is needed (for all teams) - A valid physical form or the IHSA/IESA Pre-Participation Exam Form (sports physical) must be turned in to the nurse's office before a child can try out for a sport. These forms are good for one year.
Parents/guardians provide signatures on the Agreement to Participate form and acknowledge receipt of the Concussion Information Sheet during online registration at the beginning of the school year. Students will acknowledge receipt of the Concussion Information Sheet during PE class, but will need to sign the Agreement to Participate Form at the tryout.
