Mrs. Buican

My name is Mrs. Buican. I have been the library media specialist at Gemini since August 2004. I was fortunate enough to have been a science teacher here first before moving into the media center. I hold degrees in Education, Instructional Technology and Administration. The library is an amazing place because everybody in the school has access to a large collection of materials and resources. I am excited to begin another year here at Gemini. Please feel free to contact me at kbuican@emsd63.org

Mrs. Wahlers

Hi, I'm Mrs. Wahlers. I have been a reading/language arts instructor (and now, librarian) at Gemini since 2003, having taught 7th and 8th-grade language arts, Read 180, creative writing, and reading enrichment. I earned my undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University in elementary education with a concentration in English. During my time at Gemini, I earned an MA in School Counseling from Roosevelt University, MAs in Instructional Design and Technology, Teacher Leadership, and Integrated Curriculum from American College of Education, a Certificate in Library Science from Northern Illinois University, and spent countless hours completing professional development. As a lifelong learner, I find that I am always busy learning new skills that will translate into the classroom!

Having spent my entire career at Gemini (I even student taught here!), it truly has become a home for me. I admire the commitment of my fellow colleagues and thoroughly enjoy the wonderful students and families that I have gotten to know over the years.    Please feel free to contact me at any time at jwahlers@emsd63.org.
